How do I submit a story/memory?

Enter www.stjude.org/memories in your Web browser. Select the "Share your memories" button. From there you will be asked to give a title, your story, photo/video, name and email address. A confirmation page will be given, and your story will be posted shortly following approval from our team. We need to approve each memory to ensure it is ok for the public to view. There are also Federal HIPPA laws concerning our patients that must be checked. Typical approval time is 1 business day. We will email the story/memory submitter as soon as your story/memory is available for viewing.

How do I search for a friend/loved one's story?

Look for the search box that says, "Search St. Jude Memories." Enter in a name or the title of the story/memory. You can also search by the decade by selecting from the decades buttons.

How do I share a friend/loved one's story with others?

Memories can be shared on Facebook and Twitter by selecting the appropriate social media icon within the individual memory page. You can also copy and paste the URL for an individual memory into an Email.

Why is St. Jude collecting stories/memories?

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital opened in 1962 and we are celebrating 50 years of finding cures and saving lives. Adding your memory is one way you can help celebrate and commemorate this historic milestone.

What is St. Jude going to do with my story/memory?

In addition to sharing your memory with other friends of St. Jude interested in adding their memory to the St. Jude website, some memories might be shared in social media or at an event to help showcase the unique work of St. Jude since 1962, when the hospital opened.

I'm having trouble uploading my photo/video. Can you help me?

From the "Share Your St. Jude Memory" page, click the "browse" button to search your computer for a photo or video. All file types should work and our system will automatically resize it for you.

I am not sure of the exact date for my story/memory. Is that ok? What do I do?

While it would be great to attribute your memory to the specific date, it is fine to simply give a best guess. At the least, try to associate your memory to the correct year.

Why do you need my email address?

We will email you to let you know if your memory has been posted so you can see it on our website and share it with others, if you like. As a friend of St. Jude, we will also keep you informed important information such as scientific advancements, volunteer opportunities and other ways to support the kids of St. Jude.

I am entering a story for someone else. Is that ok? Should I include my name or the other person's name?

Submitting another person's story is fine as long as you have their permission to do so. Please attribute the story to the correct person at the end of the memory, and please include your name and email address in the appropriate fields on the "Share Your St. Jude Memory" page.

If you do not have a photo or video, that is fine. Our team will select a generic St. Jude image to include that best fits your St. Jude memory.

I submitted my story/memory, but an error occurred.

If you did not receive a St. Jude confirmation page, please try again. If the error continues, please contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.

I submitted my story/memory and received a St. Jude confirmation page, but I do not see it and cannot find it in the search results.

If you received a St. Jude confirmation page, we are actively working to review and approve your story/memory. Due to Federal HIPPA laws and other standards, it may take some time. Typical approval time is 1 business day. We will email the story/memory submitter as soon as your story/memory is available for viewing.

I see an inappropriate or inaccurate St. Jude story/memory that I would like to report.
